Dr. Christine Jackson, O.D.
Dr. Christine (Christie) Jackson, O.D. earned her Doctorate of Optometry from University California Berkeley School of Optometry. She is board certified in the treatment of ocular disease and finished externships specializing in the fitting of advanced contact lenses, pediatric eye care, and the management of eye disease. A native of Southern California, Dr. Jackson O.D. was a student-athlete at UC Santa Barbara, graduating with honors in Biopsychology. Soon after finishing undergrad, she found herself living in North Lake Tahoe for a simple reason—to ski. She fell in love with this year-round community and has called it home ever since.
You'll likely catch Dr. Jackson O.D. outside of the exam room running or biking on a trail, skiing, or spending time with her Husband and children.
DR. Melissa D. Macco, O.D.
Dr. Melissa D. Macco received her Bachelor of Science in Biological Science and a minor in Psychology from the University of California, Davis. She completed her Doctor of Optometry at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. Dr. Macco’s professional affiliations include the American Optometric Association and the Nevada Optometric Association.
Dr. Macco has been working in the Reno, Nevada area for the past five years. She excels at primary family eyecare, complicated contact lenses, pediatrics, myopia control, and medical care (including glaucoma,macular degeneration and diabetic eye exams). Before relocating to Reno she worked in a non-profit organization providing examinations to school aged children in low-income areas and at a private practice in the Bay Area, where she is originally from. Her hobbies include: reading, watching movies, traveling, writing food reviews, and spending time with her husband and family.
Dr. Macco is Board Certified in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease and Glaucoma in both California and Nevada. She is also fluent in Spanish.

Office Manager
Betsy is originally from Indiana and joined our team at the end of 2019, after moving to the Tahoe area. With a background in Retail Sales and Customer Service, she strives to make every patient feel welcome and hopes to help you find your perfect pair of glasses. Outside of work, you might see on the trail with her husband and scruffy dog, on the slopes or riding her bike to and from work.
Karla
Karla always goes out of her way to make sure our patients feel warm and welcome. Our Spanish speakers love that she is bilingual and always happy to translate exams. When she isn't in the office, you can probably spot her with two large springer doodles on Donner Lake rocking some of our amazing glasses.
Annie
Optical Manager
Annie is one of our newest team members. You will be greeted by her legendary smile, she will most likely be the one tinkering on some glasses. She comes to us from Monterey Bay in California and has been living in Truckee for the past 19 years. She loves to cook, play trivia and create fun cocktails. You may find her outside our office shredding the slopes or mixing your favorite drink.
LISA
Chances are you already know and love Lisa. She has a huge heart, and as an active community member who raised her 4 kids in Truckee, you could (unofficially) call her Mayor Shaffer.
